Rob has been leading CHESS since 2010. The role of executive director involves ensuring that CHESS meets its mission in ‘Supporting the Homeless’. Rob Liaises with the CHESS board of Trustees and manages the senior team of CHESS. He is continually looking for new ways to work with the wider community to bring an understanding to those affected by homelessness. As well as securing the funding to maintain the charity, and its activities. Rob has a heart for bringing positive change to those affected by homelessness.
Jacqui has been with CHESS since 2008 working as a night support worker, until 2011 when she became Client Support Senior Manager. Jacqui has the chartered institute of housing qualification in supporting homeless people. She is responsible for the day to day running of the night shelter and the service users in the move on houses. Her position also requires that she liaise with outside agencies such as Chelmsford city council, Community mental health teams, probation and drug and alcohol services. Her job is varied and can be both challenging and rewarding but with the rest of the team at CHESS we aim to achieve our mission statement and help people to move forward with their lives.
Barbara has worked at CHESS since January 2003 as a night support worker, but also since November 2011, she has been the Business Support Manager which is a varied role being the volunteer co-ordinator, arranging events such as the annual street collection, health and safety, arranging the maintenance and repair / refurbishments of the properties used by CHESS including dealing with donations of furniture, preparing statistics for funders and funding applications, stationery, mailings, organising training for staff, payroll / holidays, manage two part-time staff and do anything else that supports the functions of the business.
