The support we can offer is described here.
If you are homeless or in a similar vulnerable situation, to use our Day Centre all you need to do is to turn up there between 10 am and 4.30 pm on a weekday and introduce yourself to the staff. The Day Centre is at St Mark's Hall, Cottage Place, Chelmsford. We may ask you to provide some details for record purposes.
We can usually provide food and drink in the evenings for those living rough on Chelmsford's streets. When our Winter Project is running we do this at the Day Centre. At other times of year we do it from the Night Shelter. A small charge may be made.
From November to March our Winter Project provides up to eight beds each night for people who would otherwise be forced to sleep rough. Beds are generally allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. To get more information speak to one of the Day Centre staff during its normal opening hours (see above).
To apply for a short-term place in the Night Shelter you must fill in one of our referral forms. You can fill in the form online or obtain a printed form from the Day Centre between 10 am and 4.30 pm on any weekday or from the Night Shelter between 8 pm and 9 pm any evening. Because of the demand we cannot guarantee that space will be available but we will record your details in case a suitable bed becomes vacant.
The addresses and telephone numbers of the Day Centre and the Night Shelter are listed on our contact page and their locations are shown on this map.
